How to configure 2-step authentication

Two-step authentication method has been introduced to increase users’ security while logging into their email accounts. Users can choose whether they will use a mobile phone equipped with an application called IceWarp Authenticator that will generate a one-time password (OTP) or whether they will receive an SMS with the code that will grant access. Authenticator is a free application available for iOS and Android.

In case that two-step authentication has not been activated yet, you can always enable this feature.

  1. Go to Quick Settings menu > Security > Set.

  2. Select the type of device and click Next.

  3. Follow the instructions in dialog box. Click Next when finished

  4. Input the code delivered to the app and click Verify.

  5. You will see the confirmation that the two-step authentication was activated, click Done.

If two-step authentication is activated for your account, then you will see the following authorization window on your WebClient login page after password input. In this step, you have to enter a 6-digit code previously sent to your mobile phone or is accessible in the IceWarp Authenticator app. It depends on the type of two-step authentication you chose from.

The next time you sign in, IceWarp will ask to enter a authentication code generated in your IceWarp Authenticator app.

Warning: In case of stolen or lost mobile device, ask your administrator for 2-factor authentication reset.

How to deactivate two-step authentication

  1. Click your avatar to open the User settings menu.

  2. Go to ⚙ Options > Accounts > My account > 2-Step Authentication.

  3. Type 6-digit code you see in the IceWarp Authenticator and click Reset.
